Patsy Kensit born on 4 March 1968 in Hounslow, West London, England, is a famous English actress and a former singer. She was born in a Catholic family and her father, James Kensit was an antique dealer and her mother, Margie was a publicist. Patsy Kensit attended Newland House School located in Twickenham.
Patsy Kensit started her acting career when she was four and appeared in the television advertisement for Birds Eye frozen peas. Later, she made several appearances as a child artist in films and television programmes, like For the Love of Ada, The Great Gatsby, The Blue Bird, Luna, Great Expectations and The Adventures of Pollyanna. In 1985, Patsy Kensit was shot to fame when she pursued her career in singing as a lead singer of the band ‘Eighth Wonder’. The same year, Patsy Kensit also acted as Eppie in an adaptation of Silas Marner.
Owing to her acting skills and lovely face, Patsy Kensit was offered a lead role in Absolute Beginners, a film based on the book by Colin MacInnes. Patsy Kensit then made several appearances on the silver screen and acted in A Chorus of Disapproval, Lethal Weapon, Blame It on the Bellboy, The Turn of the Screw, Angels and Insects and Bitter Harvest. Her performance in the film Twenty-One released in 1991 was highly appreciated. In 2000, Patsy Kensit was portrayed as the wife of Geogre Best, a legendry football player, in the film Best. In 2004, Patsy Kensit played the role Sadie King in the British soap opera Emmerdale, for which she won the ‘Best Episode award for negative role’ at the British Soap Awards. People highly appreciated her performance in Bo Selecta, a British TV comedy sketch show aired on Channel 4.
In 2005, Patsy Kensit took part in the game show Marathon. She was a part of The Friday Night Project, a British comedy-show. She also appeared as ‘The Grand High Witch of the entire World’ at the Children’s Party at the Palace in celebration of the Queen's 80th birthday in 2006. Apart from acting, Patsy Kensit has performed voice-overs for the online gambling website 32red.com. She played the character of Faye Morton, a ward sister in Holby City, a BAFTA award winning medical drama television serial. As of 2008, Patsy Kensit has signed to a famous modelling agency, Models 1.
